Summer/Samhradh

Each textile art piece is in a quality Irish white wooden and glass box frame 31cm by 31cm with a picture opening of 14cm by 14cm. The frame has an adjustable metal hook on the back to allow for hanging.

Here Anita has created the four seasons in textiles and given each their Irish name. Each art piece is based on Anita’s photo taken in  Mullaghmeen Woods near Oldcastle in Co. Meath. They show the changing colours of the season and creatures associated with it in fabric, dyes and stitch.

Each piece is created using batik techniques on cotton and then printed with Anita’s design and finally stitched by machine and hand embroidery. A layer of wadding is added to create a relief effect after stitching.
