We’re thrilled to introduce the newest addition to our artistic family at the Lahinch Art Gallery – Anita Reynolds! With a rich background in textiles and ceramics, Anita brings decades of experience and a profound love for the creative process.
An alumna of NCAD, Anita’s journey in the art world began in 1992, and she’s been leaving her mark ever since. After dedicating 25 years to nurturing young minds at Beaufort College, Navan, she’s now settled in the picturesque locale of Ballivor, Co. Meath, where she finds endless inspiration in the beauty of nature that surrounds her.
Since 2020, Anita has embraced her passion for art full-time, crafting her masterpieces from her cozy studio nestled next to her home. Her textile creations are a marvel to behold, employing intricate batik techniques to depict textured landscapes, embellished with both free machine and hand-embroidered details. Meanwhile, her ceramic pieces pay homage to her Irish roots, featuring stunning imprints of native trees and Gaelic typographical elements, perfect for enhancing any living space or garden.
Anita’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed – her works have graced esteemed exhibitions such as the Solstice Arts Centre in Navan and the prestigious Sculpture in Context event at the Botanic Gardens. Notably, she was commissioned to create a breathtaking textile wall piece for Kildalkey Ns, a testament to her ability to capture the essence of local history through her art.
As an active member of various creative associations, Anita believes that art should evoke joy and inspiration. Drawing inspiration from luminaries like Georgia O’Keeffe and Matisse, her vibrant creations mirror her deep-seated love for the natural world.
