Irish Artist Michael Hanrahan visited Buckingham Palace in London on August 10th to personally deliver his oil painting commemorating Queen Elizabeth’s historic visit to Ireland. It will now be part of the Royal Collection which includes works by the old masters. “It’s amongst many famous Paintings going back hundreds of years so it’s in good company”, said Michael Hanrahan as he left the palace where the Queen’s private Secretary and the Chief Clerk of the Palace held a special reception in honor of the visit.
Michael is now the only living Irish Artist with work in the Royal Collection.

Red boat at Roundstone is a favorite location of Michaels to visit. In the background, the Twelve Bens are part of Connemara National Park which covers some 2,000 hectares of scenic countryside. Also if you look closely there is a shadow of a local fisherman working at the front of the red boat. Vibrant painting created with oils.
